TERMS & CONDITIONS

Introduction

Welcome to Sweet London Bakery. By accessing and using our website and services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms & Conditions and Terms of Use. Please read them carefully before using the website or placing an order.

1. Coloring and Ingredients

We use only the highest quality ingredients. While we strive to meet your design requests, please note:

  • Exact color matches cannot be guaranteed, as all cakes are handmade.

  • If certain product lines (e.g., ribbon, decorations) are unavailable, we will substitute with similar products while preserving the original design's intent.

  • Some decorations may include non-edible materials (e.g., wires, jewels). It is your responsibility to ensure all non-edible items are removed before serving.

2. Dietary Requirements and Allergies

Although your cake may not contain nuts, eggs, dairy, wheat, or gluten, all cakes are prepared in a kitchen where these ingredients are used. We cannot guarantee allergen-free products.

3. Storage

   To maintain your cake’s quality:

  • Sugar Paste Cakes: Sugar paste (fondant) icing should not be refrigerated. Cakes with sugar paste should be stored in a cool, dry place in their original packaging, away from sunlight. Refrigeration may cause colors to run.

  • Buttercream Cakes: On warm days, buttercream cakes should be refrigerated to preserve their quality. Remove from the refrigerator prior to serving to allow the cake to come to room temperature for optimal enjoyment.

  • Desserts: Desserts should be refrigerated to maintain freshness and quality. For the best flavor and texture, allow them to reach room temperature before serving.

For maximum enjoyment, please follow any specific storage and serving instructions provided with your purchase. All cakes should be stored out of sunlight in a cool, dry area.

4. Placing an Order

By placing an order, the customer agrees to these Terms & Conditions. We recommend a three-month notice for wedding cakes, but for customized cakes such as birthday, graduation, or other occasion cakes and dessert orders, a notice period of three weeks is required.

Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced by any other cake maker can only be reproduced by Sweet London Bakery as our interpretation of that cake and will not be an exact reproduction of the cake in the picture or photo. Whilst we will do our best to meet your requirements, please note that designs may vary slightly from those shown on our website and exact color matches cannot be guaranteed.

5. Minimum Order Requirements

Sweet London Bakery requires a minimum order quantity for certain products:

  • Cakes and Truffles: Minimum order of 12 pieces.

  • Dessert Cups: Minimum order of 24 cups.

Orders placed below these minimum quantities will not be processed. Please review these requirements before placing your order.

6. Pricing and Deposits

A deposit is required for all orders. All deposits become due when the order has been placed. Your order will not be confirmed until the deposit is paid and confirmation of payment is received. All orders are deemed to have been accepted by Sweet London Bakery only when the deposit has been paid.

For wedding cakes, this deposit is 50% of the total cost, and for other cakes and desserts, it is also 50%, with a minimum deposit of $50. Final payments for wedding cakes are due 28 days prior to the event. Final payments for small desserts and bespoke cake orders are due on the collection/delivery day unless otherwise specified by Sweet London Bakery.

For events/catering orders, final payments are due three days prior to delivery or collection unless otherwise specified by Sweet London Bakery.

All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

7. Payments

Final payments for small desserts and bespoke cake orders are due on the collection/delivery day unless otherwise specified by Sweet London Bakery. For events/catering orders, final payments are due three days prior to delivery or collection unless otherwise specified by Sweet London Bakery.

8. Alteration to Orders

Changes to an order must be requested within three days of confirmation. We reserve the right to adjust prices for changes requested after confirmation.

9. Returns and Refunds

Sweet London Bakery does not accept returns due to the perishable nature of our products, except in cases of errors in the order. Refunds may only be given in extenuating circumstances deemed appropriate by Sweet London Bakery. If you are not present to accept the delivery and the product is returned, no refund will be issued for the non-delivery, though redelivery can be arranged at a fee. The delivery fee will not be refunded.

10. Collection and Delivery

Collection: Orders can be collected at a pre-arranged time and location. Once an order is collected, Sweet London Bakery is no longer responsible for the product's condition, including any potential damage during transportation or storage. It is the customer’s responsibility to transport the product safely and store it as recommended.

Delivery: It is the customer’s responsibility to provide a complete and accurate delivery address. Sweet London Bakery is not liable for failed deliveries due to incorrect or incomplete addresses. You are responsible for inspecting the products at the time of delivery to ensure they are in acceptable condition. Please notify us within 24 hours if there are any issues related to quality or accuracy.

Post-Delivery and Collection Disclaimer: Once the order has left Sweet London Bakery’s premises—either via collection by the customer or delivery by a third party—Sweet London Bakery is no longer responsible for the product’s condition. This includes any damages resulting from improper handling, transportation, or storage after the product has left our premises.

11. No Resale

Our products are provided for personal use only and cannot be resold without prior authorization due to their perishable nature.

12. Delivery & Setting Up

Cakes/desserts will be delivered and set up subject to availability; any arrangements for delivery may be subject to change; however, prior notice will be given where possible. We will deliver and set up your cake/desserts at the venue notified to us in your order or to such other place that has been agreed with us in writing at the time of order placement. Delivery charges will be applied to orders requiring delivery and will be specified when the order is confirmed.

If you have a specific delivery date and require delivery before a given time, please specify this when placing your order. We will do our best to accommodate your requirements. It is the Customer’s responsibility to ensure Sweet London Bakery has been given the correct delivery information and that someone is available to receive your order. A signature will be required for the receipt of the order upon delivery.

If the recipient is not available, the order will be returned to Sweet London Bakery, who will contact you to arrange an alternative delivery time for which an additional charge will be payable by the customer. Sweet London Bakery accepts no responsibility for any loss or consequential loss incurred by the Customer as a result, e.g., a wedding without a wedding cake or dessert table.

13. Return of Hired Equipment

Deposits are taken for all borrowed equipment. All equipment must be returned within 3 days of the wedding date (unless alternative arrangements have been agreed upon in writing prior to the wedding) or extra charges may be levied to cover hire costs. Any damages to equipment will incur a reduction of the deposit returned to cover repair or replacement costs.

14. Publicity and Promotional Rights

By signing the order form, the customer hereby agrees that Sweet London Bakery is the sole designer and owner of the final cake and dessert designs. All cake and dessert designs created by Sweet London Bakery remain the property of Sweet London Bakery. The client has no ownership rights over any cake or dessert design. All rights to any original designs created and designed by us shall remain the exclusive property of Sweet London Bakery. The customer has no ownership rights over any cake or dessert design. From time to time, our designs may be published in the media, such as wedding magazines or the internet. While we make efforts to ensure that all published designs by Sweet London Bakery are exclusive to the customer, we do not guarantee exclusivity of cake or dessert designs between our clients. The only exception to this rule is when the customer commissions an exclusive design.
